Padmini Sankar, short-story writer and author, has lived in Dubai for many years. Her debut novel, The Mother of all Parties, a fun romp through the life of a Dubai socialite’s preoccupations and peccadilloes, has been very well received. Her short stories have been published in Arabian Noir, an anthology of crime fiction ( under the aegis of the CWA (Crime Writers’ Association), and the Dorothy Dunnett HWA (Historical Writers’ Association) anthology. Her latest release is a middle-grade fantasy, Zara and the Bumbling Genie. (Om Books, 2025).
When not writing, Padmini spends most of her time reading, cooking (she claims to make the best gunpowder masala in town), travelling around the world, or else enjoying a chin-wag with her friends.
She has two adult children and lives with her husband in Dubai.
